Revised!
Doug at WetCanvas gave me some good instruction on fixing the spot of sun. Then I realized that the tree trunk needed to be more shaded, after all the sun is on the other side. One of those "slap myself on the forehead" revelations! I'm much happier with this. . . not perfect, but improved.

Yep! You got the sun spot right! I hadn't even noticed the shade on the tree trunk problem. I like your shadowing on the snow, I know it's the same in both pictures, I just like it so thought I'd say so...
This is great! I love the difference in the sun and it really works! Nice job.
Really nice work, Brenda - the sunspot does look better after having been softened. I really am enjoying this series of winter scenes -will you do more?
